Do Everything in Love

Love

Love has different meanings. It’s the action that regards the well-being of humanity over personal gain or interest.

Love is the greatest commandment. God expects it from everyone. To love God with our hearts and our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-40).

Anything done without love is done in futility. God gives gifts, but the gifts must be used in love to produce the desired result. Anyone who uses the gifts of God without love is like an empty vessel. The Bible describes such as a sounding brass making fruitless sounds that profit nothing  (1 Corinthians 13:1-3).

The mark of a true disciple of Christ is love and not gifts alone. By this will all men know you are my disciple if you love one another, Christ said (John 13:34-35).

Love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). This means genuine love gives the ability to overlook minor faults and mistakes in others. If anyone is at fault, correct in meekness and love (Galatians 6:1). Strong condemnation of another is a sign of lack of love. Christ came to save the world and not to condemn it (John 3:17).

It's easy to claim to love God, but it’s impossible to do so without love for another because God is love. Whoever doesn’t love and does everything in love does not know God (1 John 4:7-8).

We are admonished in God's word to desire the best gifts, and love is the best (1 Corinthians 12:31). True love shown to another is the best gift you can give. The world needs more acts of love because love is growing cold in the hearts of many.

Love is a fruit of the Spirit. It’s a mark of true Christian to love as Christ did who gave the commandment to love all everyone (Galatians 5:22).

May the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and all.
