Transform Fear to Faith

A christian girl

Faith is confidence in God. God will always strengthen you if you choose not to walk in fear, but faith. (Isaiah 41:10).

God wants us to have complete trust in him. He told Joshua to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9). The size and duration of the task ahead, the pressures of leading the Israelites, and the absence of his spiritual mentor, Moses, were perhaps heavy on Joshua’s mind at this time. But the Lord was not calling him without enabling him.

Don’t work with fear, but put faith in God and walk in faith (Psalm 56:3-4).

God has not given us the spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). These are available to us because the Holy Spirit lives in us. Follow his leading each day so that your life will more fully exhibit them instead of fear.

He keeps those with him in perfect peace and faith and not in fear (Isaiah 26:3). When we fix our thoughts on God, we can experience perfect peace, even in turmoil. As we focus our minds on God and hold on to his Word, we become steady and stable. Supported by God’s unchanging love and mighty power, we are not shaken by the surrounding chaos.

Some are anxious about meeting their needs, but God wants us to cast our cares on him because he cares for us. Worry is unnecessary. There is no need for us to bear the burdens when He is willing and able to bear them for us. Worry is futile. It hasn’t solved a problem yet. Worry is a sin because it denies the wisdom, love, and power of God.

Lay your petitions to God in prayer and don’t be anxious or fearful over anything. Turn your worries into prayers. Do you want to worry less? Then pray more! Whenever you start to worry, stop and pray. Also, take time to listen to what God has to say to you, and thank him for all the good work he has done in your life.

Learn the act of love to overcome fear and be filled with faith. There is no fear in love because perfect love cast out fear (1 John 4:18). Lean on the love of God. He has a perfect love for us that cast out our fear. By his love, he sent his son to die for us and he indwells every believer.
