Why Prayer Should Be a Lifestyle for Every Christian

Praying during prayer

Prayer should be an integral part of a believer's daily life for several reasons.

Every believer needs wisdom for his daily Christian life. Through prayer, we ask for wisdom from God, who gives it liberally to all who ask (James 1:5).

We all need wisdom in life. God is the fountain of all wisdom. The believer who has taken prayer as a lifestyle will have the privilege to continually ask it from God.

The work of God needs wisdom. Every Christian needs it to make wise decisions in their daily work for God, which they can ask him in prayer.

Prayer should also be made a lifestyle by every Christian because it heals (James 5:16). It guarantees a good healthy life for the Christian.

The human body can house unclean spirits (Matthew 12:43-42). These spirits cause weakness and several sicknesses in people. They can't stand the name of Jesus. As we continually pray in the name of Jesus, they come out. It's a spiritual process, leaving the Christian with perfect health and well-being.

Prayer also helps the health and well-being of our family and friends as we continually pray for them (James 5:16).

Daily life is full of activities and tension that cause anxiety that leads to a worried mind. We cast our care and worries on God through prayer, which leads to peaceful life (1 Peter 5:7).

A believer is faced with temptation in his daily Christian life. Anyone can fall into temptation when the desire of the flesh dominates the desire of the spirit. Paul kept his body and flesh under control, and prayer is certainly one of the ways he employed (1 Corinthians 9:27).

Prayer should be the lifestyle of every Christian to keep the desire of the flesh on under subjection, like Paul, to avoid falling into temptation (Matthew 26:41).

We need grace in our daily Christian life. Grace is divine assistance and help. We can only get the help of someone when we ask for it. Prayer is the means we can ask for grace from God. He's willing to give to whoever asks because we can't do anything on our own without his grace and assistance (Hebrews 4:16).

Prayer is also needed in the daily life of a Christian to build whatever he does. Unless the Lord builds a house, the builder does so in vain.

Prayer builds the faith of a Christian. We are admonished to build ourselves and our faith by praying in the Holy Ghost (Jude 1:20).
