The Time the Rapture Will Happen

Rapture

The rapture is the taking away of the saints of God from the world right before when a great turbulence will come upon the world. A period known as the great tribulation (Matthew 24:21).

Jesus was teaching his disciples things concerning the kingdom of God when the Pharisees sought him, desiring to know about the Kingdom. Questioning Christ, they ask him when the kingdom will come (Luke 17:20). That means when he will come both at the rapture and at the second advent.

Christ in his response told them that the kingdom was already around them (Luke 17:21). This he was referring to the invisible Kingdom, which was already within because of his presence in the world and was fully established at the coming of the Holy Spirit.

However, that which they were asking about was the physical Kingdom (i.e. the millennial Kingdom) which will be established here on earth after the rapture and at the second coming of Jesus Christ (Revelation 20:6).

Christ in his response gave various events that will preceed his coming and the period the rapture will happen.

In Luke 17:34, Christ said, “…in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left”. This no doubt is referring to the rapture.

For the time and period the rapture will happen, Christ said “in that night”. At a first glance of the statement, one would think he was referring to the dark hour of the day where work cease and everyone goes to bed.  But NO! Christ said no man knows the day or the hour he will come except the Father only. So he can’t contradict himself (Matthew 24:36).

When he says, “in that night” he was referring to a time and period where people in the world would have given themselves to slumber (spiritual sleeping) and neglect of spiritual duties and exercise, just as it was in the days of Noah.

In the proceeding verses, he said the time period, which he referred to as “night” will be like it was in the days of Noah. Everyone eating, drinking and marrying that they forget everything about God or listen to his people (Luke 17:26-27).

The world will be taken unawares at the rapture, like as Christ has said that he will come like a thief in the night unannounced (1 Thessalonians 5:2).

Apostle Paul in his writing said that the time (rapture) will not come except there's falling away first and the man of sin (the Antichrist) is revealed (2 Thessalonians 2:3).

The falling away he was referring to is the “night”, Christ said. The time of rapid backsliding and followed by neglect of the Christian faith.

It will indeed be like a night hour because it will be one of the darkest period in human history. Great trouble everywhere, but the trouble will not be as great as such that will be experience at the great tribulation for the left behind who missed the rapture.

There's room for escape and that room is a rapture. To be a partaker of the rapture, you must come to Christ and surrender all to him. He will forgive your sins and cleanse you with his  precious blood (1 John 1:9). After which congratulations, welcome to the household of God!
