How a Christian is Ranked

A christian with the bible

The kingdom of God comprising all believers in the body of Christ have hierarchies. Age is important, but not the major factor.

Matthew 5:19 tells us why which says, “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

Christians are ranked based on how well they keep and practise the commandments of God.

Those who practise the commandments of God and encourage others to do so gets a higher rank as a Christian.

Encouraging others to do the commandments of God can be through direct Bible teaching or through the lifestyle of the Christian.

These Christians are greatly respected in the kingdom because the glory of God is obviously seen around them. Their teaching is always backed up with power because the effectiveness of the preaching of a Christian depends not only on the biblical knowledge he has gained but by how well he practises what he preaches.

There are some other group of individuals in the kingdom of God. These Christians gained their entrance through the right way (repentance) but they could not keep up with their convictions because of compromise. They encourage others to compromise too.

For example, a preacher who because he takes alcohol will encourage his congregation to drink but not be drunk.

Another example is one who impregnate ladies and lure them to commit abortion will tell his congregation that abortion is not a sin.

These individuals are inside the Kingdom because they act like they are. God who does not want any to perish is patient giving them time to repent (2 Peter 3:9). If they fail to do so, they will be thrust out of the Kingdom to face shame and disgrace.

Many misunderstand the context of Matthew 5:19 because they wonder if a Christian break the commandment of God, then how will he enter the kingdom of God. They think the kingdom of God is only referring to heaven or the abode of God.

No one who dies in rebellion towards God’s laws will see heaven. The kingdom of God that is being referred to is the one comprising believers in the body of Christ on Earth.
