How Righteousness Is Found in God

Prayer made to God

Righteousness means different things. It doesn't imply only good works. God wants kindness shown to others, but it isn't his standard for righteousness.

Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Someone is justified when he is pardoned by God and he sees righteousness in him. We are justified by faith in Christ and not by works (Ephesians 2:8). A person who sees righteousness in works is like someone on rags. Self-righteousnesses are rags in God's sight (Isaiah 64:6).

Unrighteous people will not see heaven. Fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, stealing, and drunkenness are some examples of unrighteousness (1Corinthians 6:9-10). Surprisingly, some people live in them. They place hope in works rather than faith in Christ.

We are righteous only by faith in Jesus Christ. We feel abundant peace as we put our faith in Christ. We get grace because God influences our lives.

The Holy Spirit resides in us as we put our faith in Christ. He helps us grow in faith.

However, life with Christ isn’t always of comfort. We should be happy whether in comfort or adversity.

God wants righteous life through faith in Jesus.
