How God Reveals His Plans

Jesus with children of God

God initially doesn’t reveal the whole of his plans to a man he has called. As the Christian matures in the faith, he reveals his plans to him.

He reveals his plans to his children through his Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10). A child of God already knows where the Lord is taking him to even before arriving there. Satan knows equally but doesn’t know exactly how he will get there. All he does is try to put it to a halt by making him fall into temptation.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says “… Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

The statement “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard” means the plans the Lord has for his children are too great beyond imagination that the eye and ear cannot withstand it when it is seen or heard.

“Neither has entered into the heart of man” means no man could ever think about it. They would have thought it was impossible if they have heard about it. To them, the child of God still has a long way to go and nothing good will come out of him anytime soon. He is looked down upon until suddenly he rises to the top.

“Which God hath prepared” means the plans had been prepared by the Lord since the day the Christian came to the faith through Jesus. All the Christian needs are patience and endurance for him to receive what the Lord has promised.

The road to the top is not always smooth. The Christian may experience challenges, but the Lord has promised that he will allow no one to be tempted beyond that he can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13).

“For them, that love him” means only those who have a genuine love for God will get his
promises. The hypocrites will get nothing and find themselves in the lake of fire if they fail to repent.
